Our expertise ensures reduced downtime, enhanced scalability, and future-ready performance.
Are you Looking for replacement of the Obsolete SCMS System or Retrofitting of the Substation Control and Monitoring System or Enhance the RTU Based Substation in the SCMS.
We are offering Solutions for the Upgrade of the Substations and Uplift the Control System of the substation to the Latest HMI based Solution.
We specialize in legacy system integration using advanced protocol gateways, modernizing without complete replacement.
Can you work with existing infrastructure?
We specialize in retrofitting and upgrading existing systems, extending their operational life and optimizing performance, there is two possibilities
Replacement of Protection Scheme with Latest IEC 61850 Relays
Change All Legacy Protocol Relays and Device as part of the Retrofitting Solution of SCMS or Keep the Protection Scheme as it is and replace the SCMS system with Latest HMI System. Protection Relays are very rugged and supposed to work for the longer service time. the budget will increase many folds if the Protection and Bay Controller unit to replaces.
Even it seems to be an easy Job, However the Contractor need to review and study the complete Protection Scheme and integration of the Protection Network. Failing to do so can be result in Malfunction in Overall Protection Scheme. Our background in Electrical System is added advantage in this term.
Replacement of Substation Control and Monitoring System
The replacement of the Existing Substation Control and Monitoring System with keeping the existing protection network is bit challenging as the LEGACY Protocol need to be integrated with SCMS. There are numerous communication protocols which are obsolete and no support from Manufacture is available. Our approach to provide the solution for SCMS is client centric i:e we proposed the software and hardware which does have the inbuild native protocol to handle the legacy system. We can provide the protocol conversion for numerous protocols. However, prior to offering the solution we do the analyse of Obsolete SCMS and conduct the feasibility studies of the Substations. Our Service as independent consultant is also available.
IEC 60870-5-103 Transmission protocols, common standard for the informative interface of protective equipment. This is Standard Protocol implemented by most of EU Companies in their Substation Protection Relays and Device.
Modbus is a data communication protocol that was established in 1979 for use in Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) panels by Modicon Later Purchase by Schneider Electric. This protocol is primarily used for industrial devices. It is user-friendly with fewer restrictions as compared to other equivalent protocols. It leverages serial, Ethernet, or internet protocols for data exchange from one master device to multiple devices.
Some of the standard versions of the MODBUS protocol include MODBUS RTU, ASCII, TCP/IP, UDP, PREMEX MODBUS and MODBUS ENRON.
PROFINET
PROFINET, or process field network, is an industry-based field standard that uses Ethernet to communicate and deliver data under restricted time constraints.
This protocol follows the IEC 61784-2 standard, which encompasses conformance class A, B, C and D versions of protocols
PROFIBUS, also known as process field bus, was originated in 1989 by the BMBF (German Department of Education and then taken over by Siemens). PROFIBUS is a part of IEC 61158, which was implemented to communicate with field devices using “bit serial” interface mode. Due to legacy issues in communicating with devices, researchers created this protocol that has a common mode of process automation and communication tool. Soon after its implementation, operators discovered issues with the common mode of process communication. It was too difficult to handle and exchange information among themselves. Further research gave rise to PROFIBUS DP (decentralized peripherals). PROFIBUS DP is the most commonly used among the PROFIBUS versions, complemented by PROFIBUS PA (process automation).
LON Work
LON Work Protocol had been used in Substations for Protection due to certain Features, However the Support for this Protocol is very much Limited and almost non existing.
ABB SPA
Is the Proprietary Protocol of ABB , However the Support is available for the Protocol and can be handle in Substations
Supported Protocols
Following are the Most common Protocols which are supported but not limited –
OPC UA OPC DAXML SNMP Simatic
RP 570/571 REST IEC 104 IEC 103
IEC 101 DNP 3.0 IEC 61850 ModBus
ELCOM-90 TG80x PROFIBUS PROFINET

Enhancement of the RTU based Substation with SCMS
Since the SCMS system is provide the better Option to Control and Monitor the Substation we do provide the RTU based SCMS. The RTU is used as Data Collection Device to collect the DATA from Electromagnetic Relays and other Discrete devices, Meters, etc. The RTU Can serve as Gate way to SCMS System and to the LDC System as well.
The Existing RTU can be used to provide the DATA. we can duplicate the Communication Channel, and existing communication can serve the LDC and new SCMS System with out any need for additional Hardware. This is most cost-effective solutions.
Providing the SCMS in substation Enhance the Capabilities of the Operation
- Better Navigation of the Substation
- Less Fatigue to Operator as they do not need to Patrol the Substation
- Recording and Logging Provide the Data for the Command and Action with responsible Persons
- Historian Record will be Maintain and Accurate reports can be produce.
Enhancement of the Mimic Board Substation with SCMS
Since the SCMS system is provide the better Option to Control and Monitor the Substation in compared to the conventional Mimic Boards, we offer HMI screen-based retrofitting of mosaic board.
The Benefit of Replacement of Mimic Board with HMI is
- Better Possibilities of the Expansion, as Substation Feeders increase may be the Existing MIMIC Board is not sufficient
- Better Visualization as Operator can Sit in Chair and Navigate through Screen
- Data Acquisition and Historical Data Logging for Future
- Space Saving as MIMIC Board are Hugh, the Space can be used for placing new Panel in Substation
- HMI Based SAS can be relocated to new place.
